Brandon Tanev taunts Colorado Avalanche crowd with epic post goal celly
The Seattle Kraken are in their second season in the National Hockey League and appearing in their first playoffs, with all the hype surrounding this feat you almost knew something ridiculous was bound to happen during their first-round matchup with the Colorado Avalanche.
With the Kraken up 1-0 during the first period, Seattle forward Brandon Tanev who is known more for throwing the body around than putting the puck in the net streaked into the Avalanche zone to collect a puck that appeared to be coughed up or passed weakly by his teammate Yanni Gourde. Tanev collected the puck, and wristed it over the shoulder of Alexander Georgiev. Tanev proceeded to celebrate like nobody else would by skating over to the glass and blowing a kiss at some of the Colorado faithful who were in attendance at Ball Arena in Denver.
Celebrations like this are exciting to watch and likely more fun to experience. It shows the character of Tanev and that although this is his job, that he's still enjoying himself out there. If you don't like what you're doing, why are you doing it?
While Hockey has had it's fair share of circumstances that have tarnished its reputation this season, I like seeing moments like this. Although the Kraken eventually lost the game, I feel thus series has lived up to the hype.
