When the Toronto Maple Leafs signed Tyler Bertuzzi to a contract this summer it created some immediate buzz amongst the fan base. Bertuzzi represented the grit and toughness the Leafs have lacked for years and along with Max Domi, provided a significant increase of testosterone to the locker room. Since his signing Bertuzzi struggle early before finding a place on the second line with John Tavares and William Nylander.
Bertuzzi has quickly become a fan favorite due to his uncharacteristic style and unique look. The pride of Sudbury, Ontario has continued his antics and made a real difference for the Maple Leafs. Last night Bertuzzi had a beautiful assist after losing his glove, which Sheldon Keefe hilariously described post game.
After the game though it wasn't the assist that left fans talking, it was a clip of Bertuzzi on the bench that fans fell in love with. During the broadcast cameras caught Bertuzzi completing a very unique tape job on his stick.
One thing is clear, if the Leafs are going to make a run in the playoffs this year, Tyler Bertuzzi will have to be a big part of that.
