800-game NHL Vet announces his retirement, announces his first job after retirement
After 14 seasons and 871 career games, veteran center Brian Boyle is officially hanging up his skates.
Boyle, from Hingham, Massachusetts was drafted 26th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2003. The center finished with 871 games played; During that time suiting up for eight teams, he contributed with 141 goals along with 111 assists and 615 penalty minutes.
The 38-year-old was diagnosed with myelogenous leukemia in 2017 which caused him to step away from the game for a brief period of time. He subsequently won the Bill Masterton Trophy after the 2017-2018 season
Boyle won't be out of a job or away from the game long as he will be joining the NHL Network immediately as a Studio Analyst.
