11-year-old hockey player passes away, and is honoured by the entire community
The Atlantic Canada Hockey community is an extremely tight group. The fans and people of Atlantic Canada always come together to support their own. That's exactly what we've seen this week.
On February 6th the Dartmouth Whalers made the heartbreaking announcement that 11-year-old Brady Richard had lost his battle with cancer.
The DWMHA would like to express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Brady Richard, who courageously lost his fight against cancer early Monday morning.
Our thoughts are with the Richard family at this time.
Brady was a huge part of the hockey community and had publicly battled cancer. Brady was part of the local U11 program and had shown class and dignity throughout his entire battle.
The Halifax Mooseheads have taken part in honouring Brady as well.
The love and outpouring of respect is an incredible part of our hockey community. The way friends and family come together shows all the beautiful sides of the hockey community that you don't always hear about in the news.
The family is asking for donations be sent to the IWK Children's Hospital in Halifax.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone impacted by Brady's passing.
