4 players suspended indefinitely including Edmonton Oilers prospect
It's not everyday that a league makes a sudden announcement suspending 4 players from one team without any prior notice, but that's exactly what happened. Yesterday the Western Hockey League made the announcement that they had officially suspended 4 players from the Moose Jaw Warriors effective immediately.
News coming down from the WHL that Moose Jaw Warriors players Connor Ungar, Max Wanner, Lynden Lakovic & Marek Howell have been suspended indefinitely for "possible violation of team rules and the WHL Standard of Conduct policies."
In a release, the WHL says the four players have been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation. Though it does not specify if the Warriors or WHL will be completing said investigation, or what the violation of team rules & policies were. It's odd that a suspension would occur without an investigation having been conducted. But the league must feel strongly enough about the information they have at this time.
The Warriors, currently have a record of 33-16-0-3, and sit 4th in the WHL's Eastern Conference. A loss of 4 significant pieces of their team could dramatically impact their ability to make the playoffs or perform well in them.
