Arizona Coyotes finally open their wallet to sign restricted free agent to big payday
The Arizona Coyotes are usually the punchline in almost every joke, but it appears their ownership is finally trying to change that. The Coyotes and Lawson Crouse were scheduled to be headed for an arbitration hearing that would have more than likely set Crouse up as an unrestricted free agent.
But today it has been announced the Coyotes and Crouse have come to an agreement that will avoid that hearing. Elliotte Friedman announced the following information:
Lawson Crouse has a five-year extension with ARIZ
The AAV is $4.3M
Crouse, 25, put up 20 goals and 14 assists in 65 games last season for the Coyotes. The deal helps the Coyotes to reach the salary cap floor where they're expected to remain for the remainder of the season, unless they can acquire more contracts with low cash value.
