The Montreal Canadiens have one place to go after last season, up. After finishing in last place and being awarded the first overall pick things might be turning around. In an effort to get younger, is a goaltender on the way out?

According to Eric Macramella of TSN, this will be Jake Allen's final season as a member of the Habs. It is believed he will be traded at some point before the 2023-24 NHL season starts.

Allen, 32, played in 35 games with the Canadiens last season, posting a 9-20-4 record with 2 shutouts a 3.30 goals against average and a .905 save percentage.

Now, Allen was playing behind the worst team in the league last year and while his numbers don't look very good on paper, the one I'm inclined to pay attention to here is his .905 save percentage. Even playing on such a poor team he still had over a .900 save percentage, while his other stats tanked, to me, that stat proves he can still play at a higher level with the right team, or rather, a better team in front of him.

It'll be interesting to see if Allen is indeed on the way out the door in Montreal, if he is, I'm willing to bet teams will be vying for his services
