Colorado Avalanche complete trade for Darcy Kuemper after Cup victory
Last night the Colorado Avalanche won the 2021-2022 Stanley Cup Finals. They dethroned the Tampa Bay Lightning as your new NHL champions. At least one other team was happy about the Avalanche's victory, and that's the Arizona Coyotes.
During the off season the Arizona Coyotes dealt starting goaltender, Darcy Kuemper to the Avalanche. But the conditions of that deal were not officially known until last night. Last night's win resulted in a conditional 2024 3rd Round pick being added to the constantly rebuilding Coyotes.
The final conditions to be met meant that Kuemper must win the Stanley Cup and appear in 50% of the Avalanche's games. Two things he achieved last night.
The Coyotes own seven out of the first 45 picks in the draft this year, and it all starts for General Manager, Bill Armstrong when the third overall pick opens up.
Bill Armstrong is putting on a master class in collecting draft picks, but the team is still playing in a College Arena, will it balance out? We'll see.
