Darcy Kuemper reportedly signs a deal with Eastern Conference Team
Darcy Kuemper is fresh off a Stanley Cup victory with the Colorado Avalanche. Unfortunately due to salary cap constraints the Avalanche have had no choice but to move on without their starting goalie. This has thrust Kuemper into a very hungry goalie market, with more teams searching than options available.
Despite there not being a communication window available for teams any longer, it does appear that Kuemper has come to terms on a new deal. According Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff, when free agency opens expect Kuemper to sign with the Washington Capitals.
As has been speculated, Darcy Kuemper would seem to be a great fit in the Nation's Capital. I'd expect a deal in the range of 5 years x $5.5 million whenever Kuemper and #caps get to talking.
Kuemper, 32, will be making his way to his 5th team during his NHL career. Last season with the Avalanche Kuemper posted a .921 save percentage and 2.54 goals against average on his way to the Stanley Cup.
