Nolan Patrick's career has been mired with injuries. The 2nd overall pick from the 2017 NHL Draft, can't seem to catch a break.

On the most recent edition of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman dropped a bombshell saying Vegas Golden Knights' forward Nolan Patrick may retire because of his injuries.

"I had heard a rumor in the summer that Nolan Patrick was going to retire. Then I was told that is not the case; Patrick has a salary for this year of $1.2 million. There is no point in him retiring, as he has a salary to collect,»
said Friedman.
"I think there would be a lot of people that would be surprised to see him play this year, and they wonder about his future too,»
added Friedman.

Friedman didn't completely rule out a return for the upcoming season but it seems very doubtful that we will see Patrick lace up the skates for Vegas.

Patrick got in 25 games last season, recording 7 points. It's unfortunate news for a player that had such high potential coming out of Junior.

It appears to be an upper-body issue, that he has dealt with since the early stages of last season.
