Minnesota Wild rookie has his beautiful first career goal stolen after terrible video review
For every NHL player scoring their first career NHL goal is one of the biggest milestones of their career. It's something that only ever happens once, but for Adam Beckman that moment we'll have to happen twice.
During tonight's game between the Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings, Beckman thought he'd opened the scoring. After receiving pass down low, Beckman makes a beautiful spin move before beating Phoenix Copley through his five hole. Beckman celebrated the goal with the passion and excitement you'd expect.
Unfortunately that joy quickly lifted as the Kings quickly called for an offside challenge. After an extended review the officials determines that Ryan Hartman had been offside on the play and overturned the goal.
After the 1st period the game remains tied at 0.
