As the Florida Panthers continue their search for a new coach while having the runner up for the Jack Adams award on the back burner, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet had these comments on The Jeff Marek Show Podcast had this to say
Florida can do what Florida wants to do, this is a cutthroat business and you have to do things, I just think it's beyond clumsily handled.
Florida has been busy interviewing potential head coaching candidates this week, while having Andrew Brunette on the back burner uncertain about his cute with the organization. Not only is Brunette unsure of his future, but the team hasn't communicated anything to him.
As mentioned above the NHL is a cutthroat business but the Panthers are lacking 2 things, professional courtesy and self awareness in their search for their next bench boss.
If you were Andrew Brunette and they offered you a contract to coach Florida tomorrow, would you take it? My answer without a second of hesitation would be no. Florida as an organization lacks direction and purpose at the moment.
