Last night, when the Abbotsford Canucks took on the San Jose Barracuda in American Hockey League action a scene you never want to see happen during play.
Canucks prospect Jack Rathbone goes behind his net to try and collect the puck when he gets hits up high up high by Barracuda forward Adam Raska. Take a look:
after laying motionless for some time while being tended to behind his own net, a stretcher was brought out where Rathbone was transferred and taken off the ice. He gave a thumbs up on his way off. The game was sent to intermission early.
This is the second time in less than a year that Rathbone has been stretchered off the ice due to a major collision.
At a certain point, one has to wonder if he should continue playing hockey. Health is paramount above all else.
