The Buffalo Sabres are visiting the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight and let's just say, that after the first 20, it's the Tage Thompson show.
In the first period, Thompson has 4 goals to go along with 1 assist for a total of 5 points in what has to be one of the most dominant performances in recent memory and there's still two thirds of the game to play. Take a look:
Thompson has been putting it all together this season and I think it's safe to say this performance has cemented him as a superstar in the league.
Columbus on the other hand, are looking rather rough as the season moves along. I guess signing Johnny Gaudreau didn't do as they would've hoped.
Thompson's 4 goals ties him for the single period record with Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and 15 other players. Could he challenge Darryl Sitter's all-time 10 point night record?
