Jaromir Jagr is continuing to plug away in Czechia with the club he owns, Kladno, and on Wednesday surpassed the legendary Gordie Howe as the oldest player to appear in a professional hockey game.

On Wednesday, Kladno was participating in a play-out series against the winners of the second division in Czechia, with the winners of the best-of-seven playing in the Czech Extraliga for the 2024-25 season.

Less than two minutes into the game, Jagr made an immediate impact, putting Kladno up 1-0, tapping in a beautiful pass from Jakub Strnad.

"52-year old Jaromir Jagr is back in the Czech Republic after his trip to Pittsburgh, and scored on his *first* shift 🚨🍷"

By appearing in Kladno's lineup on Wednesday, according to Zdenek Janda, Jaromir Jagr is the oldest player to play in a professional hockey game at 52 years and 63 days old, surpassing Gordie Howe, who was 52 years and 11 days old when he wrapped up his career with the Hartford Whalers in 1980.

"Jaromir Jagr is playing today for his @RytiriKladno. Will become the oldest "professional" player to play in a profi league. He is 52 years and 63 days old.
Gordie Howe was 52 years and 11 days when finishing his NHL career.
And Jagr just scored a goal in @telhcz !!!"

Jagr added an assist for a two-point night, as his Kladno team went on to win the game by a score of 7 to 2 to take a 2-0 series lead. If Kladno wins two more games, they'll remain in the Czech Extraliga, a move that will give Jagr and the team more money in terms of sponsorships.
