On Saturday prior to Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, the National Hockey League and the Players Association announced that the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off will be played at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec and TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts from February 12th to 20th, 2025.
The format for the event is pretty simple, considering that the NHL has a short window to get this done. The four participating nations will play each other in a round robin preliminary round and at the end of that phase, the top two nations will then advance to a single-elimination championship game, which will be held in Boston.
Here is schedule for the 2024 4 Nations Face-Off:
- Canada vs Sweden (February 12th @ 8pm ET). *
- USA vs Finland (February 13th @ 8pm ET). *
- Finland vs Sweden (February 15th @ 1pm ET). *

In a matter of weeks, we'll also find out some of the first players named to Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States' rosters. Chris Johnston of TSN shared in a post on X that each of the four participating nations will announce the first six players on their respective rosters on Friday, June 28th.
It's an exciting time for fans of international hockey with the return of NHL players and best-on-best competitions. Following the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off, NHL players are expected to participate at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy and then a potential 2028 World Cup of Hockey. The NHL and NHLPA are committed to getting back to a consistent best-on-best international calendar, which is great news for everyone involved and those who love the sport.
