Today during the Florida Panthers end of season address, forward Claude Giroux was asked about the potential of returning to the Philadelphia Flyers this summer as a free agent .
Those are big questions that I can't answer right now. I don't know what the future holds and there will be a lot of conversation.
Giroux has been a great fit with the Panthers. He had 23 points in 18 regular-season games, and eight points over 10 playoff games. He was Florida's second-leading scorer in the playoffs.
The 34-year-old loves Philadelphia and the fans of Philly love him. In my opinion I'm not sure the reunion makes sense. After the season the Flyers had it seems they are heading for a rebuild. Does it really make sense to sign an aging star to a long term contract with how the team is currently? Does Giroux still want to chase a cup? Do the Flyers sign Giroux to appease the fanbase while they get through the rebuild? Questions that we might get answers too in the not too distant future.
