One of today's NHL matinee matchups was between the Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild, two of the league's toughest teams. Of course, as with any physical interaction on the Wild, it begins with the league's most feared enforcer Ryan Reaves. On the Bruins side, newly acquired borderline psychopath Garnet Hathaway was the one to brave an engagement with Reaves, at first.
As the puck rolled around the boards, Reaves and Hathaway make contact in front of the Bruins' bench. After the check, the two exchange a heated set of chirps. Reaves clearly challenges Hathaway to a fight, but is quickly held back by two referees while a clearly skittish Hathaway crawls onto the bench.
Even Hathaway, a notorious spark plug and one of the more willingly physical players in the league, was clearly scared to engage with Reaves.
