On November 8th, Evander Kane suffered a serious laceration to his wrist in a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The incident happened after Pat Maroon's skate made contact with Kane's uncovered wrist. The injury cost Kane almost 3 months of action, but Kane made his return earlier this week.

Last night, in Kane's second game, the Oilers faced off against those same Tampa Bay Lightning. Before the game Pat Maroon was able to grab Kane's attention during warm ups and he was able to speak to the forward. Microphones on the ice captured the conversation.

My son told me I did it. I didn't even know I did it. My bad I guess.

After the injury many people wondered how Maroon was able to finish the game, but it turns out Maroon wasn't even aware of what had occurred. Maroon took time to apologize to Kane and Kane graciously accepted.

No player wants to ever hurt anyone else, and an injury like Kane suffered no one ever wants to see. Good for Maroon to take the time to apologize, but in typical Patrick Maroon fashion, when the puck dropped he was back on his game. Maroon was called for two slewfoots throughout the game, sharing that not even causing an injury like Kane's, will shake Maroon.
