Pat Maroon and Sam Carrick drop the gloves and then get ejected for their troubles
As the National Hockey League starts its stretch drive, you know the games are bound to get more heated. Even between teams on opposite sides of the spectrum, making for a lot of fun hockey.
Tonight, the Tampa Bay Lightning are hosting the Anaheim Ducks and with the Ducks losing 6-0 early in the 3rd period, tensions boiled over between Anaheim's Sam Carrick and Tampa Bay's Pat Maroon, take a look:

This ended up being a very spirited fight with both men getting some shots in, though, Maroon ended up taking this one by landing a series of short hard shots. Carrick isn't afraid to stand in there with anyone.
Both men were given misconducts on the play in addition to fighting majors, effectively making each of them hit the showers early.
As the season winds down and heads towards the playoffs, you'll start to see more and more of this and I, for one can't get enough
