The Tampa Bay Lightning are such a well operated team, from ownership all the way down. The Lightning are a great team and have of of the best captains in the league in Steven Stamkos. Stamkos has played his entire career as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning and last night he hit a major milestone.
Steven Stamkos made history tonight tying, Martin St. Louis for the franchise point record, with 953 point. Stamkos set up linemate, Ross Colton for a one timer that looked very similar to a lot of the assists St. Louis racked up over his career.
Stamkos shared he thought about St Louis before the game saying:
I definitely had Marty on my mind, tying his all-time points record. He still means a lot to me in what I've become as a person and a player it's surreal and yet humbling to tie who was my role model and friend. I wouldn't be the player I am today if it wasn't for Marty Thank you.
Steven Stamkos was drafted 1st overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2008. He's played in 916 games and has 472 goals and 481 assists.
