Breaking News - Major shakeup in Calgary as one person will not return next year
The Calgary Flames were thrilled heading into this season. After what could have been a nightmare of a summer, General Manager Brad Treliving managed to salvage the season. Or so it seemed. After losing both Johnny Gaudreau and learning Matthew Tkachuk had demanded a trade, it was doom and gloom in Calgary.
That's when Treliving was able to pull off a masterclass trading for Mackenzie Weegar, Jonathan Huberdeau and additional assets. Treliving then acquired Nazem Kadri, and the push for the playoffs was back on. However the dynamic in the Calgary locker room never came together and the Flames ended up missing the playoffs completely.
Today the missing of the playoffs has appeared to have led to one man no longer being part of the Calgary Flames plans.
Sources say Brad Treliving will not be returning as #Flames GM.
Treliving was in the final year of his contract and he now appears to be poised to potentially set himself up for an incredible payday this summer as he looks for his next GM job.
Update:
The Calgary Flames have confirmed those reports.
