There's a lot at stake during professional hockey games, even in the preseason, but linebrawls, especially before the regular season begins are rare. That's exactly what happened in the EIHL yesterday though.
In a preseason game that saw the Sheffield Steelers go up against the Nottingham Panthers, they wasted no time letting the had blood start; take a look.
In the clip above, you can see that every player on the ice is squared off against one another before the camera shifts and two players are just throwing haymakers at each other.
All-in-all there were just 27 minutes in penalties when the dust settled split between 6 players, all but one of them was for fighting, the other was 2 minute cross-checking penalty.
One thing is for sure, the EIHL is wild no matter what time of the hockey season it is.
