According to Sportsnet Insider Elliotte Friedman, Tyson Barrie of the Nashville Predators has been given the go ahead to find a trading partner. Meanwhile, he won't suit up for his team's game tonight against the New York Rangers.
No word on whether Barrie was made a scratch and then asked to find a trade, or if he's sitting to remain healthy for an exchange.
Barrie, who's been playing in the NHL since 2011, was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche, and that remains the team he's spent the most time with in his career. Besides the Avs and Preds, he's also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers. He has 0 goals and 9 assists in 22 games this season. His current contract, which runs out at the end of this season, has a cap hit of $4.5 million.
