The Calgary Flames have been a really frustrating team this season. With such high expectations after all of the summer acquisitions, the team has failed to live up to it.

The team started the season with a three-game win streak but have only been able to replicate the win streak once since. The rest of the win streaks this season have just been two games.

There has been inconsistent play all over the roster. Their starting goalie from last season Jacob Markstrom has been in poor form with a 14-13-6 record. He carries a .892 save percentage and 2.90 GAA. This is way off the numbers he posted last season, .922 save percentage and 2.22 GAA.

Head coach Darryl Sutter hasn't been able to be get enough out of star playmaker Jonathan Huberdeau. On the season the 29 year old winger has 10 goals and 35 points in 50 games. His usage can be one of the contributing factors with his ice time dipping from 19:25 (Florida Panthers) to 16:55. Sutter is known to roll his fourth lines more often but under 17 minutes on average for one of the top players in the league is a very puzzling decision from the veteran bench boss.

The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta reports:

"There is a lot of speculation surrounding the Flames. Some of it is pretty wild. Bottom line, Treliving isn't happy. He is not pleased with his team's performance and there are even some whispers over the future of head coach Darryl Sutter."

The Flames currently sit outside the playoff picture with a record of 25-18-10. If Calgary ends up missing Sutter could find himself out of a job.
