Fan shares photo of Auston Matthews that allegedly shows him using illegal drug
Auston Matthews led the NHL in goals last season, becoming the first player in a decade to score 60 goals. Matthews went onto win the Hart Trophy as the league's Most Valuable Player. With training camps set to start tomorrow a fan is sharing a photo of Matthews that may be incriminating.
According to Twitter user @Avslegend, Matthews shared the following photo to his Instagram account that allegedly shows residual cocaine lines on the table.
The photo has since been deleted from Matthews Instagram but was taken on a trip with good friend Frederik Andersen.
Drug abuse in the NHL is nothing new and would not be surprising. There were reports during Brian Burke's time in Toronto that multiple players were dealing with substance issues behind the scenes. Hopefully this photo is just an optical illusion, but it does not look good for Matthews.
