Things get heated after Travis Konecny taunts Alex Ovechkin after he scores an empty net goal
Last night the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers faced off in a Metro Division matchup. The two teams competed in a game that was much closer than the scoreline would indicate.
With the Capitals leading 3-1 with less than 10 seconds remaining, Alex Ovechkin added his 2nd empty net goal of the night. The goal lifted him to 15 goals on the season and 795 goals for his career. Usually an empty net goal is an uneventful play, but after Ovi buried his 2nd of the night he was approached by Travis Konency.
Konecny presumably made a comment about Ovechkin padding his stats, which clearly left Ovi upset. Ovi immediately went at Konecny throwing a shot.
This reaction drew a crowd as both teams began to push and shove. The Capitals went on to win the game 4-1, while the Flyers fall in the standings continues.
