The Nashville Predators seem to be a bubble team this year in the National Hockey League, currently tied with the St Louis Blues for the last wild card spot. With the rumours surrounding goaltender Juuse Saros, it appears the Predators have their eye on young forward from the Eastern Conference.

According to Sportsnet's Eliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Predators have their eye on Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas; take a look.

The Hurricanes are said to have discussed a trade for Saros with the Preds and Necas would be going the other way should Saros be a Hurricane in the near future.

Necas, 25, is coming off the best season of his NHL career and is following that up with decent production so far this year. In 51 games this season with Carolina, he has 17 goals and 23 assists for a total of 40 points.

Necas has shown flashes of being a real point producer at the NHL level, maybe going to Nashville will help him take that next step. We'll see where this goes, but Necas would be a decent return for Saros among other things.
