Hyman finally talks about what is was like having to leave Toronto and sign elsewhere
Zach Hyman, now a member of the Edmonton Oilers is just under two hours away from making his return to Scotia Bank Arena, where he began his career in the National Hockey League for the first time as a visitor.
Now, Hyman has opened up about what it was like having to leave the Maple Leafs and sign with a 7 year deal with the Oilers on July 28th, 2021 and it's heartbreaking; take a look.
From the sounds of it, Hyman had no intention of leaving the Leafs but was more or less forced out over 1M.
Hyman, 31, is having a tremendous season having played in 67 games with the Oilers, collecting 48 goals and adding 19 assists for a total of 66 points. He's already set a career high in goals and looks poised to his the 50 goal mark for the first time in his career.
Maple Leaf fans must be kicking themselves and the fact that Kyle Dubas wasn't able to sign Hyman who clearly wanted to stay in Toronto.
